Effective: September 2026
Tide 4a requests your watch's location (rounded to ~10 m precision) and sends it to the developer's proxy server (this Cloudflare Worker) for a single purpose: fetching the weather forecast and tide data for where you are. The proxy forwards trimmed requests to MET Norway (api.met.no), Open-Meteo, and serves tide-gauge harmonic constants from the TICON-4 dataset (DGFI-TUM, CC-BY-4.0).
What is collected: nothing is stored. The proxy keeps no databases of requests, no user identifiers, no accounts. Coordinates are used in-flight to answer the request and for short-lived anonymous edge caching (they are rounded to ~110 m for cache keys). Standard Cloudflare operational logs may retain requests briefly; the developer does not use them to identify anyone.
What is shared: rounded coordinates reach MET Norway and Open-Meteo as part of the forecast request, governed by their own policies. No data is sold or shared with anyone else.
On the watch: forecasts and tide constants are cached in the watch face's local storage only. Heart rate, steps, and pressure are read from the device sensors and never leave the watch.
